ENJOY AND GO JAPAN – A Program to Help Participants Realize, “It’s a Blessing to Still Be Able to Study”
“Enjoy and Go Japan” is a Japanese language training program offered by FPT Japan Holdings (FJP), specially designed for the family members of employees. The goal is to help these family members integrate smoothly into life in Japan.
In August 2023, FPT Japan Academy (FJA) took over the program from the LDI unit. Since then, FJA has tailored the courses to suit the needs and schedules of learners. Currently, the academy offers two main types of classes: Traditional Classes (in-person at school) Online Classes In addition to learners from Tokyo and surrounding areas, students also come from various regions across Japan, including Hokkaido, Niigata, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.
Despite challenges in arranging teachers, organizing students by skill level, and setting up classes, FJA proudly welcomed two batches of in-person students who completed their courses and received their diplomas. The academy has also launched 8 online classes held during flexible hours throughout the week and on weekends, covering both daytime and evening sessions, ranging from Beginner to Intermediate (N3 level). The Online Classes focus on conversation practice and communication skills, enabling learners to adapt quickly to life in Japan. Although students may initially feel hesitant when meeting new teachers and classmates during the first lessons, they gradually become more confident and engage more actively in conversations over time. These classes not only teach Japanese but also provide a vibrant space for sharing practical life experiences and fostering connections between teachers and students.
The impressive achievements of these students reflect their dedication and resilience, as well as the commitment of their teachers. Everyone involved has worked hard, balancing family responsibilities, childcare, and studies. Some classes only begin late in the evening when students can finally attend after a long day. Despite these challenges, all participants share the same goal: to master the Japanese language and establish a stable life in Japan.
Looking ahead, FJA hopes to welcome even more students into both the traditional and online programs, becoming a stepping stone for many families to quickly integrate into life in the Land of the Rising Sun.
