FJA students claimed top honors at the Japanese Language Presentation Contest.

On July 20th, representatives from three FPT Japan Academy (FJA) teams advanced to the finals and secured the top three prizes at the inaugural competition organized by the Institute of Waseda Education Research

Under the theme of “Global Environment – Culture Exchange Presentation Contest” the three FJA teams progressed from the preliminaries, surpassing 17 other teams to secure spots in the finals. The championship title was claimed by the Russian team, composed of three members: Selyavin Andrey, Pliskin Roman, and Balyberdin Nikita. The Silver prize was awarded to the team from FPT University, while the Bronze went to the Vietnamese team, comprised of second-year students from FJA.

Murasugi Takae, the instructor who supervised the two championship teams and the Bronze-winning team, shared that despite limited preparation time, both teams dedicated themselves to rigorous practice. “On competition day, although the Vietnamese team was somewhat nervous, they delivered their presentation slowly and clearly, much like they had practiced. The Russian team remained composed throughout their preparation and appeared calm even before taking the stage”.

Ikeda Yuri, the program coordinator for the exchange program and instructor for the FPT University team, mentioned, “Three exchange students from FPT University volunteered to participate in the competition within two months of arriving in Japan. In addition to studying Japanese, they also undertook an internship at FPT headquarters, diligently preparing and practicing late into the night for the debate. Their activities have inspired many high school students preparing to study abroad, demonstrating that with determination, big dreams can indeed become reality, even with limited experience in learning Japanese”.

The Global Environment and Culture Exchange Presentation Contest was jointly organized by the Comprehensive Foundation of the Waseda Institute of Education Research in collaboration with the Embassy of Egypt. The three members of the championship team and their instructor will receive a prize – a fully sponsored educational tour to Egypt. On September 8th, Teacher Murasugi and the three winners will embark on their journey to Egypt.
