[Recap] IT industry seminar in Japan – the golden time is now, get ready for Japan!

On the evening of August 8th, FPT Japan Academy (FJA) and the Recruitment Division (RA) of FPT Japan Holdings (FJP) co-hosted an online seminar titled, “IT Careers in Japan – What Opportunities Await You?” with over 80 participants registered.

The guest speakers provided practical and valuable insights for the attendees.

Aim for the goal of becoming a global citizen

Mr. Pham Duc Manh, Head of Resource Assurance at FJP, who has worked with numerous exchange student cohorts at FJA, shared: Vietnam maintains positive diplomatic relations with many countries worldwide. From the 1980s to 2000s, Vietnam-Japan relations flourished and have remained strong. FJP continues to collaborate closely with Japanese partners. As Japan faces a significant labor shortage, FJP is actively recruiting, creating a great opportunity for Vietnamese youth to expand globally.

How to seize this opportunity?

Mr. Mạnh stated that students have several options, including studying abroad, working long-term, or frequently traveling for business. For those aiming to go to Japan, it is essential to improve their language skills (Japanese N3 or higher), build physical fitness, participate in lab projects or OJT programs, engage in scientific research topics and competitions, join clubs, and get involved in community activities. He also shared a practical lesson from a construction project in Turkey: if the foundation is strong, it can withstand natural disasters like earthquakes. Therefore, he emphasized the importance of laying a solid foundation now to prepare for future challenges.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hang, Head of the International Development and Cooperation Department at FJA, provided further insights into the 3-month OJT program in Japan—a fantastic opportunity for students to get familiar with Japanese culture and improve their Japanese language skills. The key highlights of the program include: studying Japanese with 100% native instructors, experiencing Japanese culture and lifestyle, participating in various IT workshops and seminars, networking with Japanese universities, and interning at FPT Japan. Notably, in 2025, numerous scholarships will be available for students enrolling in the OJT program in Japan.
