FPT Japan Academy Student Wins First Prize in Japanese Speech Contest
On March 3, 2024, the 26th Japanese Speech Contest for Foreigners, organized by Arakawa Ward, was successfully held at the Sunpearl building.
With the theme “Your Impressions of Coming to Japan”, 13 contestants from countries such as China, South Korea, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan submitted their entries to the organizers. During the contest, 11 contestants gave live speeches, sharing a variety of perspectives on Japan, such as “The Culture of Etiquette in Japan,” “A Student’s Perspective on Japan,” “Weddings and Japanese Children,” and “The Taste of Studying Abroad: A Cultural Dialogue on Cuisine between Japan and China.”
FPT Japan Academy was honored to have a representative in this contest: Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Quynh from Class A. Her speech, titled “Words of Gratitude,” discussed the cultural differences in expressing gratitude between Vietnam and Japan. Through her speech, she conveyed her heartfelt thanks to those who had helped her during her time in Japan—her teachers, friends, colleagues at her part-time job, and all the Japanese people she had encountered, representing Japan itself.
Even more honorably, the overall winner was none other than Dang Thi Thuy Quynh, the representative from FPT Japan Academy. We hope that Thuy Quynh will achieve even more success in her studies and career in the future.
The 26th Japanese Speech Contest, held in the warm weather on the day of the Hina Matsuri Festival, will undoubtedly remain a wonderful memory for her!
